Use of School Sports Grant at St. Gregory’s
At St. Gregory’s, we have allocated a portion of our School Sports Grant to fund a service level agreement with the Chorley School Sports Partnership (CSSP). This partnership supports our commitment to delivering high-quality physical education and promoting active lifestyles among our pupils. The CSSP’s objectives include:
- Ensuring all pupils receive two hours of high-quality PE each week
- Increasing participation and enjoyment in competitive sports, while supporting talented pupils to progress
- Developing a new generation of school-based coaches
- Building strong links between schools and community sports clubs
- Expanding the number of young leaders and adult volunteers in school sport
- Using PE and sport to inspire learning and achievement
- Enhancing staff confidence and competence in delivering PE, with a focus on subject leader development
CSSP Services Provided:
- Coaching: 120 hours including salaries, training, DBS checks, kit, and travel
- School Games Competitions:
- Level 1: 6 half-termly events with certificates and trained young leaders
- Level 2: 20 competitions annually, including medals, trophies, venues, and staffing
- Level 3: Transport, organisation, and delivery
- Sports Leagues: Organisation of 4 leagues with awards
- Bikeability: Level 1 & 2 training with rewards
- Balance Bike Training: For Reception pupils
- Inclusive Events: 5 events annually with full support and recognition
- Gifted & Talented (G&T): Year 6 assessments and a 6-week development camp
- Change 4 Life Clubs: Resources, equipment, staffing, and club development
- Resources: Access to website, equipment, curriculum resources, and calendar
- Staff Support: Subject leader networks and CPD opportunities
- Leadership Development: Young Leader training and Bronze Ambassador programme
- Foundation Festivals: 3 themed events per year with certificates
- PE Post Support: Assistance with planning and organising PE and sport activities
- Curriculum Development: Help with schemes of work, assessment, and mapping
- National School Sports Week: Planning and delivery support
- Kitemark Applications: Guidance and support
- Staff Development: INSETs, meetings, and mentoring
- CSSP Management: Leadership and oversight of all programmes and staff
- Administration: Budgeting, finance, payroll, monitoring, and evaluation
- Marketing & Communication: PR, networking, and community links
- Workforce Development: Training for young leaders, coaches, teachers, and volunteers
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring high standards across all services
